Georgia’s logistics sector is undergoing rapid and structural transformation. Its strategic location, the significantly increasing importance of the Middle Corridor, and ongoing investments in transport infrastructure are creating unprecedented opportunities for the development of modern, flexible, and high-standard logistics facilities.
Georgia is increasingly positioning itself as a regional transit hub, where growing cargo flows, diversified international trade routes, and the rising demand for fast delivery are generating new requirements for services, technologies, and infrastructure built in line with global standards.
In this context, ITMC emerges as one of the key and promising players in the sector. The company already operates a 5,667 sq.m customs warehouse located near the Tbilisi Customs Clearance Zone, serving the rapidly growing cargo flow. However, ITMC’s vision is far more ambitious. In the long term, the company aims to develop a strong, multi-functional, high-tech, and fully integrated logistics infrastructure - one that includes commercial and temperature-controlled warehouses, a dedicated parcel-handling facility, and a modern cross-docking system (allowing the transfer of goods between carriers without intermediate storage).
ITMC’s ambitious goal is not only to expand its own capabilities, but to build a hub capable of serving international trade players, supporting Georgia’s economy in attracting cargo flows, and contributing to the overall competitiveness of the country’s supply chain.
BDO’s experience in the logistics, infrastructure, and transportation sectors, along with its high-standard business analysis practice, provides a solid foundation for delivering comprehensive, reliable, and well-grounded guidance to companies.
The partnership between BDO and ITMC directly addresses the company’s need for precise, credible, and multidimensional analysis. This collaboration enabled ITMC to gain not only surface-level assessments but a broader perspective and a strategic vision that fully reflects the company’s real business potential.
Through this collaboration, ITMC received:
For ITMC, working with BDO became not just an analytical exercise, but a high-trust partnership that brings together professional expertise, a data-driven approach, and strategic vision - the very foundations essential for the success of any major infrastructure initiative.
The project was implemented with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), further underscoring the significance of this collaboration, the high quality standards, and the credibility of the work delivered.
As a result of the in-depth research and economic feasibility study conducted by BDO, ITMC received a data-driven and strategically robust plan focused on long-term development. This plan enables the company to confidently take its next steps toward market expansion and infrastructure modernization. At the same time, it provides a credible and well-substantiated foundation for strong and persuasive communication with international financial institutions, significantly strengthening the company’s ability to attract additional funding.
The project provided ITMC with a clear understanding of where the company stands today and what potential it holds for the future. It identified the services with the highest market demand and established an expansion model that aligns with the dynamics of the Middle Corridor and the growing trends in cargo flow.
The key outcome of the project is that the feasibility study prepared by BDO provides ITMC not only with a tool for immediate decision-making, but also with a long-term, clearly defined vision that integrates market trends, financial viability, and infrastructure development prospects. This foundation enables the company to expand its capabilities and secure an even more prominent position within Georgia’s and the region’s logistics ecosystem.
